CLERAD Low Energy Probe Nuclear DEP

This probe was designed especially for low energy gamma detection between 15 and 70 Kev. The integrating counting system permits in association with a high sensitivity, to detect low activity on several seconds. Its small diameter (12mm) is ideal to control areas that are unreachable with a classical detection device.

This new system permits to optimize skin detection or other fabrics detection contaminated with radio isotops which are emitting low energy rays (15 to 70 KeV) in particular Plutonium. Its high efficiency enables precise localisation of a small source which emits low gamma rays activity.
Its high performances makes it the perfect tool for detection on the excision site of contaminated skin in the upper extremity of the body.

The digital display permits to read the result on 1s or the average of it on 60 s, 120s, or 240s. An audible signal is also emitted, modulated in function of the detected activity (count/ frequency range).

A full set includes a metal transport case, one control unit, an integrated connecting cable and a probe of 12 mm.
The 12 mm probe was designed for the specific detection of plutonium or other low energy isotopes. The Unit control identification number is located at the back part of the device. The 2 first letters enables to identify the type of product (ND: Nuclear Dep) ; the 2 first numbers, the year of manufacturing and the last ones, indicate the month. The serial number of the probe is engraved near its connecting cable.
